Australia has different climate to Europe (for which most panels are made). We have generally higher ambient temperatures and higher levels of solar radiation. High temperatures decrease the output of solar panels. Inverters, at their most basic, are manipulators of electric currents. In our case the inverter converts DC (Direct Current) to AC (Alternating Current), which is the type of energy our home appliances use.
Our Inverters also provide up to the second information on the performance of the solar system; how much energy is produced, how much energy is being used by your home and how much is being supplied into the city grid.

Bi-directional meters are a new type of meter, designed to record the energy your PV system supplies to the electricity grid. Basically; Bi-directional meters spin backwards so that your energy savings and rebates are automatically credited to your account.
The grid provides the base load for your home, as without storage, a grid interactive solar system can only generate and provide energy during daylight hours. During night time, energy is used from the grid.
City power is supplied to the grid from Power Stations usually from Burning Coal. However, this has had negative effects on the atmosphere and global warming, and is becoming increasingly expensive.
We still rely on burning coal for power, however, it is generally agreed that coal power, with its adverse effects, and rapidly increasing price-tag is no longer the best option; and in a country like Australia with its great sunshine and clean air, Solar Power is the smart choice!
